Here it is, an original Donkey Kong arcade game! This classic Donkey Kong arcade game was released in 1981 by Nintendo of America. This awesome vintage arcade game is sure to bring back memories for that 80's kid in all of us!
This unit has a licensed original Nintendo Donkey Kong Board set that has been modified with custom software & chips to allow the game to saves High Scores as well as has the ability to be set to free play. An original Donkey Kong did not save High Scores once the machine was turned off, nor did it have a true free play setting.
FUN FACT: Did you know that in the arcade game Donkey Kong was the first introduction of one of Nintendo’s most iconic characters “Mario”. However he didn’t have a name back then and was simply referred to as “Jumpman”.
The cabinet was previously repainted by a past owner and new side art was installed. There are a few minor bumps and bruises on the cabinet, but it still presents very well. We have installed brand new t-molding around the perimeter of the game as well as new control panel buttons, instruction and pricing decals. The original marquee and monitor bezel are in great shape but do have a few minor scratches and imperfections you would come to expect for a 40+ year old game.
The original Sanyo 20EZ monitor was recently rebuilt with a new capacitor kit. The screen image looks amazing! The picture is bright, crisp and clear! PLEASE NOTE: It's hard to get a good picture of the monitor as our iPhone makes the screen look half washed out in the pictures. This is due to the way a monitor strobes when in use. This strobing effect can not be seen by the naked eye making it difficult to get a good picture of the monitor image.
This game plays perfectly and is ready to be enjoyed in your home.
