Highly sought classic 1979 Bally Star Trek pinball machine. This early electronic pinball machine has just went through our restoration process and will definitely be the focal point of attention in anyone’s man cave or home gameroom. Proceed to warp speed on Star Trek which features everything great about a classic pinball including 3 pop bumpers, various stand up targets, drop targets, saucer hole, bonus multipliers and iconic vintage pinball electronic sound effects.
Is this game in MINT condition, NO. But we feel most anyone would be pleased with the overall restored condition of this hard to come by classic that is now 46 years old.
CONDITION:
Backglass – Original silkscreened backglass is in remarkable condition and almost blemish free besides one small flake of artwork missing in the very bottom left corner of the backglass about the size of a dime. Please see pic for close up. This backglass is stunning with no other lifting or flaking of any kind besides what has been noted. We prefer to keep the original “patina”. Reproduction backglass are available but seasoned pinball collectors know that the reproduction backglasses, although nice looking, lack the detail, color and clarity of an original backglass.
Cabinet – Entire cabinet has been sanded smooth, blemishes filled and sanded and the entire cabinet has been repainted with quality stencils from PinballPimp. The cabinet looks amazing! We have further installed metal leg protectors to the cabinet behind the legs like those that come on all new pinball machines to prevent the legs from digging into the cabinet. In addition this game has brand new stainless steel side rails, new coindoor skin with foil “Bally” logo. We have repainted the legs gunmetal grey and installed brand new leg bolts and leg levelers.
Playfield – This is an original playfield in outstanding condition with hardly any wear and only a few minor touchups done as needed. We have fully shopped the playfield out by removing all components on the top side of the field and installed brand new rubber rings and ball. In addition this game has new officially licensed Star Trek pop bumper caps, new plastic set, new drop targets.
Electronics – This game is running on its original Dash -35 MPU board that has been upgraded with NVRAM with the removal of the original NiCad battery that are prone to leaking and damaging the MPU board. NVRAM will never leak! In addition this game has a new Power Supply/Rectifier Board and we have modified the Lamp Driver Board so that this machine can operate on LEDs. The entire game has been upgraded with premium LED’s. These LED’s look great and consume less power which is a great upgrade for any pinball machine. Our technician has went through this game and checked, adjusted, repaired anything necessary to get this game in perfect working order.
WARRANTY – This pre-owned pinball machine includes our 30 day warranty covering the mechanical and electronic components of this machine.
This is the first time we have had one of these classic machines come through our store in a long time. Great classics, in a condition such as this are hard to come by.
